Steve Sable brings his passion and enthusiasm for the game to Rake Baseball Academy. He plays the game with pride and leaves it all out on the field. He has a way of bringing out the best in everyone around him on and off the field. His approach to hitting is aggressive with a focus of making sure you put the ball in play.
Steve played at Holy Ghost Prep from 2003-2007. His junior year was a good one for him in which he earned 1st Team All-BAL & 1st Team Bucks County Golden Teams. He followed up that campaign by becoming the MVP of the BAL and once again earning 1st Team Bucks County Golden Team his senior year. Steve then went on to play his college ball at Gwynedd-Mercy University.
He currently plays for the Southampton Mariners on the Pendel League. He plays a solid 3rd base and hits in the middle of the lineup. He is also a coach at his alma matter Holy Ghost Prep with some of the other fellow Rake instructors. He is the infield coach and hitting coach. Steve brings the energy at practice and on game day. It’s contagious and you can’t help but be as passionate when you're around him. The kids feed off his energy and it shows when they step onto the field.
We would like to welcome Jordan Silverman to our staff at Rake Baseball. Jordan is a local guy who was a 2 year varsity starter at CR South and a member of the 2014 Suburban One National/ BAL Carpenter Cup Team. Jordan played his summers with the Philly Bandits throughout high school. He also was awarded 2nd and 3rd Team Suburban One All-League honors and Honorable Mention All-Southeastern Pennsylvania honors during his high school career as a Left-Handed Pitcher. Jordan then went on to play 4 years at Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ where he was a key component to the pitching staff in several different roles and was named Team Captain his Senior year. He also puts great emphasis on academics as a 3X member of the MAAC Conference All-Academic Team. Now graduated, Jordan can translate his success but more importantly his failures during his collegiate career into a learning experience. Routine, positive mentality, and attacking the strike zone are the three attributes that Jordan preaches the most and he is eager to pass on his knowledge of pitching to the up and coming generations of baseball.
